This is the story of how YVP began scaling from a small home-based office to becoming one of Clark’s most trusted BPO providers. Our company didn’t start with massive success. In fact, we have our own share of hiccups along the journey.
It all started with the brains behind YVP. Our Founder and CEO, Lota Samonte. In 2007, Lota entered the BPO industry working as a Technical Support Specialist for a US-based client. After that, she went on to work home-base for a full-time workload for a client in Vancouver, Canada. Around this time Lota acquired a great deal of knowledge around the industry and has performed exceptionally well in her career. Around 2012, Lota found her new job under a US-based client. Lota, being the highly effective person that she is, wore many hats for this job. She started as a Marketing Specialist, then became a Personal Assistant to ultimately become an Executive Assistant. It was also during this time that Lota decides to take a part-time job to fulfill her family finances. Lota worked 12 to 14 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Because she was motivated to keep her efficiency, high for both her two jobs, Lota hired an assistant to help her with her workloads. Prior to this, Lota met an Australian business person who organizes business tours in the Philippines to Australian business owners. Lota tapped this opportunity and joined the business tours where she assisted and helped several business owners understand more about offshoring in the Philippines. Lota’s competency in the BPO industry increased competitively when she introduced business persons to an economic hub that is Clark Freeport Zone. This paved the way for Australians to uncover business transformative success in Clark. By this time, Lota was juggling between 3 day-to-day jobs – all at the same time. Talk about women empowerment!
Lota met with a lot of business owners, and she came across one client who particularly asked her help in finding a VA for part-time work hours. Lota came in to help and thought she could share her assistant’s part-time workload with this client. Soon after, another client became interested in Lota’s competitive VA work and wanted to sign up for her VA services. Then came another, and another and another and another until she was loaded with staff crew and soon their home at Essel park became an office for Virtual Assistants. In November 26, 2012, Your Virtual People, Inc. was officially established as a company. Because of Lota’s continued success in offshoring, Lota decided to move her staff in Clark Freeport Zone to make it official. In March 15, 2014 Your Virtual People, Inc. planted its flag here in Philexcel Compound, Clark Freeport Zone. And it came to be known as one of the pioneering BPO companies here in Central Luzon, Philippines.
